Diagnosed w Grave's Disease (11-4-09) (hyperthyroidism)and I'm apprenhensive on taking the radioactive pill?

I was told that surgery wasnt really done w ppl with Graves. I was diagnosed w type1 diabetes and the thyroid issues. Double wammy. I was wondering what is the best thg to do.. well suggestions ! thanks!
