Help getting doll plastic safety eyes to connect?

i'm going crazy..i'm crocheting amigurumi dolls...or well their animals..i have eyes that need to be put on these animals..and i cannot get these plastic backings to these eyes..please any secrets or help would greatly be appreciated!!
