I believe my husband is depressed and I don't know if he will let me help?

We are a young married couple with a child. He isn't sleeping well. He doesn't want to go to work. He admitted to me that he thinks he is depressed but doesn't know why. He has been here before. We've been together two and a half years. We haven't been married long. He says he loves his job, he just doesn't like the people he has to work with. He doesn't have a very good relationship with his mother. Never has because she is greedy and asks him for money every time we see or talk to her. He says she has always been that way. It's never hey hows your day or hows work. She never checks on him just to see how he is. It's just do you have any money for me. She has treated him like he was a problem instead of a son since his dad left her. I think she may have a lot to do with it but I'm no doctor. Our relationship is great other than this little problem. I've told him he can talk to me about anything and he does but I don't think he is getting down to the problem or if he is just stressed out because of everything that is going on right now in his life. Any advise is helpful but please don't be mean or rudy in anyway.
