, thighs, love handles?

how do i tone my , thighs and hips.. I always find squats and lunges extreamly painfull on my knees. Also situps and crunchs do nothing except hurt my back and make it hard to walk.. I cant run either cos sports bras dont do anything what so ever and its just painfull to run. Plus its freezing and to cold to walk. Please help. I have no money for expensive machines or gyms or really good foods so yeah please help thanks. also any ab exercise.. Oh and i hate bike riding the seats are so uncomfy
