Is This Normal While Pregnant?

So I just got my BFP today and I havent even been to the doctor to confirm yet so I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is normal. So I am about 2-4 days late on my period and for the last week or so I have had cramps like my period is coming but it never does. Is this normal while pregnant? to have cramping? my friend from work said she had wicked cramps for 3 months with her second pregnancy like she though she was on her period but wasnt. So I was just wondering. Thanks!
