Absolutely and this involves huge lawsuits from those who get sick. The man who owns the peanut factories that were involved with the Salmonella is probably going to go to prison and he will lose everything he owns and there will be more lawsuits than his insurance company can handle if he had insurance. You cannot morally or legally intentionally cause someone to get sick.
